Rich History

Nitin recently participated in our Education Incentive Program partnership for LCBO employees. Here’s what got him there:

Earlier this year I visited the Jack Daniel’s distillery in Lynchburg, Tennessee. While I learnt about the rich history and distilling process of this iconic brand, I also came back from that visit with an intense curiosity to learn more about the world of distilled spirits. When my employer, the LCBO, offered its employees subsidized access to WSET courses a few months ago, I immediately signed up for WSET Level 1 Award in Spirits. My pre-read of the course materials has been highly informative, and I intend to pursue additional WSET certifications over time.

I am an occasional drinker and have not had an opportunity thus far to learn and explore the many categories and products available in the world of beverage alcohol. As it turns out, I also work for one of the world’s largest purchasers and retailers of these products. So, I will benefit both on a personal and professional level from my education. WSET courses are a perfect way for me to enhance my knowledge of alcohol products, their characteristics and manufacturing processes. I am motivated to build strong foundational knowledge by completing Level 1 Awards in both spirits and wine.
