For Chloe, the WSET Diploma is a way for her to share her love of wine with others:

Why are you pursuing the Diploma?

I had worked at a winery in the Niagara region a few years back and now I am working in a totally different field as a Financial Advisor. However, the memories I had with all my coworkers, the beautiful wine region and the working experience as a Wine Consultant and Hospitality Assistant Manager back then still brings me lots of joy and made me pursue the WSET Diploma.

Do you have any future plans with the program?

I still haven’t decided what my next career is after or during this WSET Diploma journey but I’ve hosted some wine classes, wrote some fun wine columns and made short YouTube videos about wine so far. These contents mostly focused on the Korean market here in Toronto and in Korea however I’d like to reach more passionate people who love wine and share my and their love about wine via multiple channels as much as possible!

Do you have any advice for prospective students?

I’d like to say….. just sign up for it and start it as long as you are ready to devote yourself to study a considerable amount of time. Even though it’s not been an easy journey with a busy personal life, I’ve been enjoying it so far because I learn a lot!

Natural Wines and Small Plates in Paris

Crowd of people standing and drinking wine outside a wine bar in Paris.

Since the late 90’s, the presence of natural wine in Paris has increased exponentially. Sommeliers, restaurateurs, and cavistes (wine merchants) started to move away from the generic wine lists of the French brasserie and instead looked to shine a light on the rising biodynamic and natural wine stars of France. Today, every arrondissement in Paris offers a wide range of establishments, from bottle shops to Michelin Star restaurants, which take inspiration from these early pioneers. Learn more about some of the the best natural wine spots in Paris.
